A fitting is simply used in the pipe plumbing systems in order to connect a number of straight pipe or tubing sections in order to adapt several diverse sizes or shapes and for several other purposes like regulating or measuring the flow of fluid. Elbow: 

It is a fitting, which is installed in between two different pipes or tubes, which allow the change in direction. These are machined for butt, threaded and welding or socketed, etc.
Coupling: It helps in connecting two pipes to each other, when the pipes are of two different sizes. These are also called as reducer, adapter or reducing coupling.

Union: 

These are similar to coupling except the fact that these are designed to instant and simple disconnection of the pipes for fixture replacement or maintenance.
Reducer: It helps in changing the pipe size in order to meet the hydraulic flow requirement of the said system in order to adapt the current piping of various sizes.

Tee: 

It is among the common fitting, which is found in a female thread sockets, with all solvent weld sockets.


Valves:

These are equipment, which helps in regulating or stopping the flow of the passing liquid. These categorised as per the application and types of the flow.
